After seeing several deviants doing this, including Chibi-jen-hen, PuppyLuver, & now XCrazyxForxChibisX (tehcheychibi), I figured "When in Rome, do as the Romans do" so I copied this list from & it should help me get back in the pic-submitting mode I had in 2005.

After being featured in 's gallery, I have to post this in my journal. I have to feature the first 10 Deviants that reply. Then I have to post links to my three favorite deviations in their gallery. In return, they should post the same thing in their journals. I don't understand the whole concept, but I'll try.

Coyote Vs. Acme In Danger
https://www.thewrap.com/coyote-vs-acme-update-offers.../ Well, Zaslav and the other execs at WBD continue to be absolute pond scum and are rejecting offers to release "Coyote Vs. Acme". Is this stupid tax write off really worth all the trouble of canceling the release of a completed movie that people have put a lot of hard work into making, especially one that had great reception from test screenings? They're only confirming my belief that the majority of corporate executives and CEOs are pure evil and they should be banished from the industry forever. At this point, it's no longer about just these execs cancelling the release of a movie and more about them trying to suppress other people's freedom of creativity and expression, all for the sake of money. They're not even bothering to give it a chance to possibly make money back from releasing it, and would rather hide it away. It's ridiculous and morally wrong, and quite frankly, I'm sick of these corporate types and their avaricious
The Boy And The Heron-My Thoughts
I recently saw Hayao Miyazaki's latest film, "The Boy And The Heron" (originally "How Do You Live"), in theaters on Thursday, first the Japanese language version with English subtitles, and then a couple of days later on Saturday, the English dub. Even after two viewings, I'm still trying to process my thoughts about this movie overall, but I will say it's another interesting addition to the Studio Ghibli catalog. The premise is that Mahito Maki, a boy in wartime-era Japan, moves to a new town in the countryside after the death of his mother. His father had remarried to Mahito's aunt, the younger sister of his mother, and the boy is struggling to cope with this new life. All the while, he's followed and pestered by a strange gray heron and at one point he comes across a mysterious abandoned tower that was built by his granduncle. When Mahito's aunt goes missing, he sets out to find her, and the heron leads him into the tower where they get sent into a fantastical alternate world
Lightbox Expo 2023
I got back from my Lightbox Expo trip in Pasadena Monday, and while I had previously done the online versions in 2020 and 2021 when the pandemic was shutting down everything, this was my first time doing it in person. Overall, it went pretty well. Could have been better, but not bad, either. I had also previously done the CTN Animation Expo at Burbank in 2017, and since Lightbox Expo had been formed as sort of an alternative to CTN, I had assumed it would be similar. And it was, but it seemed much more crowded than the other one was. It certainly made navigating the Exhibit Hall rather tough, and because of the ticketing system they had put in place, I wasn’t able to attend every panel or event I wanted to. But it was nice to try out a little bit of everything, see some of the vendors and exhibits, attend a few of the panels and demos, and chat with some artists, both professionals and peers. Some Highlights: -I saw the premiere of a documentary called “Pencils Vs. Pixels”, which
Bill Plympton's Animation Classes
Hope you all had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! I decided to take another animation class recently, and this time, it'll be something of a repeat of one that I did back in 2017: an 8 week masterclass session with prolific indie animation legend Bill Plympton, from the first Monday of January to the last Monday of February, as he works on his newest film. Rather than sending the class videos through Vimeo links for those attending online like in 2017, this time Bill is doing it through Zoom, so even as he's learning how to use it himself, this'll hopefully be much smoother than the previous online masterclass and I can be more involved with the class aspect. And hopefully I've learned a few things about putting together an animation since then. Last time I tried these classes, I made the mistake of doing the animation for a short film in one whole file in Toon Boom rather than splitting it up in scenes, which caused the program to crash once or twice on me. So hopefully I
