Doodle Toons

I had learned about Jack C. (a.k.a. Cartoonlover98, a.k.a. SomeDoodNamedJack) through his Youtube Poops, but when I saw that he drew not only cartoons, but really funny cartoons, I took interest. So basically, I came for the Youtube Poops, and stayed for the cartoons.

The comics that this crazy Irish dude draws will often make fun of things related to DeviantART, various people online, conventions regarding anthropomorphic cartoon animals, and whatever else is on his mind. While his work may not be the strongest technically, he still knows how to make characters appealing to look at, even when he comes up with some truly wild expressions. His animations are a lot of fun as well, with very snappy comedic timing and pacing, and a clear influence from Golden Age cartoons like Looney Tunes and Tom & Jerry, as well as modern series like Ren & Stimpy.

So I figured I'd try my hand at drawing his Doodle Toons characters, including some fan favorites, and putting them together. (He's drawn a few other characters that I think he could possibly work with as well.) He's still trying to come up with ideas for them, so if I have any ideas, I figure I'd give a few suggestions. And if I'm missing anything, sorry about that.

Jellybean- This pink bunny is the girlfriend of Bellybutton and is, from what I can see, sweet but also stubborn and short-tempered.  

Bellybutton- The main character, (and definitely one of the ones that Jack draws the most,) Bellybutton, from what I gather is sort of the straight man, often sarcastic and short tempered, but still upbeat.

Cruncher- Bellybutton's slow-witted friend who sports a Liverpool accent.

Goldie- A hyperactive, talkative yellow cat who lost her tail in a teddy bear stuffing accident and is best friends with Pip.

Pip- This shy little mouse is Goldie's best friend, even with all the crazy antics these two tend to get into. I feel Goldie tends to be sort of an older sister figure to her.

Clarabelle- A pretty white cat who is very flirty and a fan favorite of Jack's followers. I see her as graceful and haughty, but capable of showing a friendly side at times.

Soo- This sheep is usually depicted as sleepy, which is fine and all, but I like to think that, when she's awake, she's naive, gullible, and easily misled, not very bright, but still nowhere as dim as Cruncher. 

Crumbles- Cruncher's obsessed Stalker-With-A-Crush. Surely there has to be more to her than that, though. Maybe she could be a tomboy, I don't think he has one of those yet, unless Goldie's like that.

Inkblot- A panda who is usually seen as grouchy, cynical, and just all-around moody. (And yes, he's flipping us off.)

Gingerbread- A yellow cat with curly red hair, a chef's hat and a spatula, I tend to see her as a local baker/cook at wherever these characters live, and I get the feeling she's kind and generous, but does tend to be carried away when it comes to work and helping others.

I'd put this on my Twitter page to show him, since he hangs around Twitter most of the time, but there's just one problem: I DON'T HAVE a Twitter account. So I'll just post it here. He might see it, who knows. (Oh wow, his birthday's tomorrow. What convenient timing.)

EDIT (9/17): As for my thoughts on the redesign, I hate Goldie and Pip's new look, (it just looks awful,) and outside of the monkey, the two new characters he brought in do nothing for me. However, Bellybutton, Jellybean, and Cruncher look alright, but I would tweak Belly's pants a little so they'd look more like pants. I might do my own take at some point soon.
