WORK-IN-PROGRESS
I made this as a way of thanking the amazing Brianne Drouhard, otherwise known on DA as *potatofarmgirl (:iconpotatofarmgirl:), for this adorable, fantastically illustrated and imaginative children's book she's made. I ordered it from the local Barnes And Noble, so I didn't get anything special with the book if I had were I to have gotten it from original publisher Immedium's site, but either way, the book in and of itself is enough that I can enjoy it and reread it over more than one time, thanks to the heartwarming but surprisingly interesting story, adorable characters, and of course, that wonderful, lively, stylish, colorful Brianne Drouhard artwork that is worth gazing over. I can't help but smile and chuckle while reading this.

It's basically my cartoon persona interacting with the book's characters and being friendly with them. Yeah, I have a soft spot for cute animals, especially hoofed mammals. Is it any wonder why one of the first movies that comes to mind whenever someone mentions Disney is "Bambi"? (I can't help but wonder what an image of Bambi made by Brianne would look like. I noticed that she's done other Disney characters in her style, so I couldn't help but wonder about that...)

I didn't know exactly how I wanted to color this, whether I wanted to do it online or I wanted to resort to more... traditional methods. I've increased my colored pencil skill since I started my account but haven't displayed any of that kinda stuff online yet and I'm not entirely confident in my skills, (however, it's much better than my earlier artwork's pencil coloring, which was, well, childish and crude,) and I also didn't know if I should try inking it in with colored Sharpies or regular ink pens. I just can't help but wonder what Brianne uses for her artwork, though. And sorry if it's sorta messy. Keeping darkened-in linework in a sketchbook can lead to that kinda thing. In my case at least.

So yeah, I'd like to hear anything from you guys, like suggestions about how to color it and that kinda thing, or if you want to comment or talk about the book, if anyone else purchased it.
