Me, Don Bluth, and Gary Goldman

This one was taken last year, but I still think it's worth displaying. This is a picture my mom took of me with legendary animator Don Bluth and his longtime associate Gary Goldman at the Alamo Drafthouse in Austin. Don Bluth is well known as the director of An American Tail, The Land Before Time and my personal favorite of his, The Secret Of NIMH. I know he's looked at as a joke nowadays for his work in the 90s, but I feel he deserves a little more respect for being one of several factors that helped animation get out of its Dark Age. Say what you will about him, but he definitely had the talent for animation. I got my copy of Bluth's book on Animation Drawing signed by the two and my mom took this picture.
